The film
Common Ground tells the story of the Aylesbury Estate in Walworth, one of the most controversial housing estates in Britain, from its birth in the 1960s through its decline to its contested regeneration.
The documentary lets people into residents’ own spaces and into the estate’s archives, to show how design, planning, dreams of utopian living and the politics of the day shaped the lives of the people caught in the middle. It is built from stereoscopic 360 video, photogrammetry, 3D models, Depthkit capture and archive.
What we did
We shot the documentary’s moving 360 footage, from a drone above the estate and a rover dolly on the ground.
